Let’s be honest—some weeks feel like a blur, while others flow smoothly and productively. As a notary entrepreneur, your schedule can go from calm to chaotic in a matter of hours. That’s why taking a few minutes at the end of each week to reflect on how you managed your time can be one of your most powerful growth tools.
This week, I did just that. Here’s what I noticed—and maybe it’ll inspire you to do the same.
🗓️ The Week Started with a Plan… Sort Of
At the beginning of the week, I sat down and blocked out time for key priorities:
Notary appointments
Administrative tasks (invoicing, checking emails)
Marketing (social media posts, blog writing)
Professional development (reading updates from the NNA)
I created time blocks and made room for last-minute signings, which always pop up. Having that structure made me feel prepared—and helped avoid that “I’m forgetting something” stress.
✅ What Went Well
Batching Tasks Helped Me Focus: I grouped my mobile notary appointments by location and saved time on driving.
Appointment Buffering Was Key: Leaving 30 minutes between appointments gave me time to breathe, grab a snack, or handle unexpected delays.
Using Digital Tools: Google Calendar and my phone's reminders helped keep me on track—and I didn’t miss a single appointment. Win!
🧠 What I Could Improve
Time for Me: I scheduled for clients, social media, and even supply runs—but forgot to set aside time to rest or unplug.
Content Creation: I had ideas for new posts and videos, but without blocking out time specifically for creative work, those ideas stayed on the back burner.
Evening Routine: Some nights, I worked later than I should’ve. I need to define a firm “clock-out” time to maintain balance.
📝 Weekly Reflection Questions
Here are a few simple questions I now ask myself every Friday. Try them too!
What tasks took more time than expected?
What helped me stay on track?
What felt draining or chaotic?
What can I do differently next week?
Final Thought
Every week won’t be perfect—and that’s okay. What matters is that we keep checking in with ourselves, adjusting where needed, and learning as we go. Time management isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what matters most—and making space for life in between.
So... how did you manage your time this week?
